Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about selling your hardware.
Do you buy from outside the UK?
No — we only accept items shipped from a UK address. Our prepaid labels are Royal Mail and DHL UK domestic services, and payment is by PayPal or UK bank transfer. If you're outside the UK we're not able to take your order at the moment.
Can I sell processors other than the i3, i5, i7 and i9?
We do not buy Xeon processors, Core 2 Duo, or Pentium G processors. Please check our price list for the models we currently accept.
I have hard drives, motherboards, and other components. Can I sell those here too?
Our website focuses on CPUs and RAM. For other components, please use our contact form and a member of our team will get in touch to discuss your requirements.
I have 2 kg of scrap CPUs or RAM. Can I sell those here?
Yes, we buy scrap CPUs and RAM by the kilogram. Please get in touch via our contact form for a quote on bulk scrap.
How can I be sure that a faulty CPU returned to me actually came from my shipment?
Every Intel processor has a tiny QR code containing its unique serial number. We read and record this serial number alongside your order number, allowing us to track precisely which processors you sold us.
My processor worked fine for me. Now you're saying it's defective.
It occasionally happens that individual processors don't pass on our test systems, even though you experienced no problems with them. In such cases, the CPU isn't necessarily defective, but we cannot purchase it because our customers might encounter the same issue. We'll gladly return any such processor to you at no cost.
What do you actually do with all the CPUs you buy?
We sell these as spare parts on the global market, primarily to be used in schools in developing countries. By giving these components a second life, we're supporting both the circular economy and digital education worldwide.
I regularly receive large quantities of CPUs. What's the best way to package them?
We can send you our plastic CPU trays free of charge. Each tray holds 21 processors and provides excellent protection during transit. Just get in touch via our contact form to arrange this.
Do you offer trade pricing for IT recyclers or refurbishment businesses?
Yes. Our published prices are for one-off consumer sales. For ongoing relationships at meaningful volume — IT recyclers, refurb shops, corporate decommissioning — we run a separate trade channel with trade pricing, free CPU trays, faster turnaround, and a dedicated contact. Email [email protected] with the subject 'Trade enquiry' or visit our /trade page for full details.
Why are you buying so few Intel Core i3 models?
The resale value of lower-end i3 processors has become so low that it is no longer economically viable for us to continue purchasing many of them. We still buy selected models — please check our price list for current availability.
I want to sell my CPUs, but I'm not reaching the minimum selling price of £50.
Unfortunately, due to postage and processing costs, we are unable to accept orders with a total value below £50. Consider collecting more items before placing an order, or contact us about bulk scrap options.
How long are your prices valid?
Prices shown on our website are honoured as long as we receive your items within 7 days of shipping label generation. Beyond this period, prices may fluctuate based on market conditions.
Is there a maximum parcel size I can send?
Yes — the parcel must fit within Royal Mail's Small Parcel size limit: maximum 45 cm long × 35 cm wide × 16 cm deep. Anything larger may be refused or returned at the depot. For most CPU/RAM orders this is plenty of room — a typical A4-sized box works well. If you need to send something larger (e.g. a large bulk-scrap order), please contact us first so we can arrange an alternative.
Can I change my return address after sending my items?
No, the return address cannot be changed once you have dispatched your items to us. Please make sure your address is correct in your profile before generating a shipping label.
I'm VAT registered. How does that work?
If you are VAT registered, please select the VAT option in your profile. After testing is complete, payment will be made including 20% VAT upon presentation of a valid VAT invoice. The price list will automatically show prices plus 20% VAT for your account.
